Coach Nangle was inducted into the Marshfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006, and for mighty good reason. He earned 4 varsity letters in basketball, and 3 varsity letters each in football, track, and baseball. He was a captain on the MHS football, basketball, and track teams during the 1958-1959 school year. Coach Nangle earned a Class C state championship on the MHS baseball team in 1958, earning All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Globe along the way. He was a Class D champion in the 400, and his school record in the 400 was finally broken in 2006 after standing for 46 years. Moved on to play baseball at Chamberlayne Junior College. After his school career, Coach Nangle took up golf, where he continued to excel athletically, earning 5 club championships over the years. EXPERIENCE: Began coaching football at MHS in 1969, then coached at West Bridgewater from 1970-1973, before returning to Marshfield in 1974, where he coached for the past 48 years. Also coached track, which he began at West Bridgewater with the boys team (73-74), then continued at Marshfield (1985-present), working as both an assistant and head coach at various times. SCHOOLS ATTENDED: Marshfield High School ('59), Chamberlayne Junior College ('65), Boston State ('70) PROFESSIONAL INFO: Retired from his job as a math teacher at MHS PERSONAL INFO: Married to wife Linda. Proud father of 3 daughters (Kim, Kristin, and Kerri). Loving grandfather of 7 grandchildren (Shane, Leeanne, Olivia, Noah, Nathaniel, Finlay, and Willa). Coach Nangle's dad, Bud Nangle, is the beloved community legend whose namesake is honored by The Uncle Bud Skate Park in Marshfield.
